RAIN

When it rains down here it really rains. Just like when it snows up north it really snows. It looks like it is going to rain most of the day so I can get some housework done. The kids are not so excited because that means they are going to be home for the day. Mya is already begging me to go to the store or over to a friends house. She loves to go out and be social. Here are some pictures from the balcony of our apartment during the rain.

BUBBLE'S

One of Mya's favorite things to do is to blow bubbles out on the patio. Keegan is is not content to just watch anymore. He thinks he is just as big as Mya and what she can do he can do too. The only problem is that he is at the stage where he just makes a mess when he is trying to blow bubbles. He ends up dumping out the whole bottle instead of blowing them. I have learned that I can passify him if he has an unopened bottle that he is holding. Here are some pictures of them having fun this afternoon because it warmed back up outside.

President Hinckley

I was sad to hear that President Hinkley died earlier today. I am sure that he is so happy to be reunited with his wife. He was so sad when she died and talked about the reunion that they were going to have when he was able to join her.
Here is a short newspaper clipping of President Hinckley.....

According to Utah newspaper Deseret News, LDS Church President Gordon B. Hinckley passed away this evening around 7pm. The initial reports say President Hinckley died of causes incident to age. He was 97 years old.
In the October 2007 General Conference, President Hinckley told the audience as his closing remarks "We look foreward to seeing you again next April. I'm 97 and I hope I'm going to make it."

Frost

I woke up this morning and there was frost on the windshield!!! I haven't seen that in a while. They said that we had a cold front coming in and I didn't think that it was going to be that cold. I grew up in Idaho, what they think is cold down here has been tolorable with a sweater. I couldn't find an ice scaper for the winshield. (We must of left them all in Idaho). I had to wait for the car to warm up so that it could defrost it. It was a great little reminder of how I am not missing that below zero temperatures of Idaho. =)

TWINS

Jessicca and I went shopping on Black Friday. We got our two Keegan's the same pajama's. It kind of reminded me of when I was growing up and my mom would buy my sister and I the same thing, just in a different color. Her and Cherisse Monson would always get the the girls (Jamie, Alisha and I) all the same outfits so that we matched. Jessicca and I didn't call each other to coordinate the Keegan's wardrobe, it was fun to see them in matching clothes.

Mya and Aiden were feeling left out that they didn't have their pictures taken and they wanted to play with the camera. Mya took a picture of Aiden and Aiden took a picture of Mya

UPDATE

I haven't sat to post anything new for awhile. I can't even say that it is because I have been that busy. I guess that I have just been putting it on the back burner for awhile.
I am now watching the Callahan's boys three times a week instead of two. Her sister, who is watching the boys the other days of the week, has decided to go back to school and they needed someone to watch them on Monday's. It is really good for the kids to get out of the house and have someone to play with. It is really hard for me to get motivated to get up so early in the morning, but once I am there it is not so bad. I am just not a morning person.
Gerald does a lot of work with the missionaries in our ward. I was thinking that he was going to be called as a ward missionary leader, or somthing like it. He was called to be second counselor in the elder's Quarum when they reorganized it a week and a half ago. I am still a primary teacher and since January when we got a new class I have really enjoyed that calling. Mya moved from nursary into primary this year. Her first Sunday she was telling me that she wanted to go back to nursary. When we go and pick up Keegan from nursary at the end of the meetings she wants to talk to the teacher about what she did in primary while she plays with the toys.
Friday Janurary 11th was my 24th birthday. I watched the Callahan's boys as usual and when Jessicca came home she brought a mini cake and had the kids sing happy birthday to me. Mya blew out the candle before I had an oppertunity to. I asked her what she wished for and she said "presents mommy." I came home and got ready and Gerald and I left the kids with the Callahan's while we went out to Applebee's for dinner. It was a nice relaxing evening and the snow didn't ruin my birthday plans this year. I was reading through past journal entries from previous birthdays and a snow storm almost always threatend my birthday when we were back in Idaho. I am thankful for the mild winter that we are experiencing down here in Houston.
Overall we have been very blessed.

Playing at the Mall

It was a little bit chilly today and so a friend and I took the kids to a mall where they had an indoor playground for the kids to play. It always takes Mya a while to warm up to things like this. Aiden got her to be a little brave, by the end she was running around like crazy. It was nice to have someplace indoors for the kids to get some energy out.
