FACEBOOK

Facebook is the reason that I haven't posted anything in the last little while. My sister asked me to join facebook and I have become addicted to it. Jamie and I duel each other at games and IM each other about our days and trash talk each other. It has been lots of fun for me and I stay up way later then I should. Last night I was up till 1 am which is only 11 pm her time. That wouldn't be so bad if I got to sleep in the next morning but I have been watching Aiden and Keegan and they are dropped off at 7 in the morning. I can't emphisize how addicting it is.

During the day I am busy with watching kids and spending time with Mya and Keegan. The kids are always better when you have structured activities throughout the day. Some of the things that we do in the morning include making playdough and bubbles. The kids love it when they get to pick out their own colors so we add food coloring to them. The other day we went for a walk in the woods outback behind our apartment and the kids picked out rocks that we painted and put eyes on for their "rock pets." Now that it is warming up (not that it was ever really cold) I want to take the kids over to the pool and let them play and drink slushies (because the we have a slushie machine in our lounge). The kids are always tired after a long fun day like that.

Here are some pictures of those adventures............

Here is a good playdough recipee....
1 cup salt
1 1/4 cup warm water
3 cups flour
Mix and knead into a ball
If it is still sticky just add a little more flour. I usually end up adding more flour the more the kids play with it.

Here is a Bubble Recipee.....
1/2 cup dishwashing liquid (dawn, joy)
2 cups water
2tsp of sugar
(drentching a string in water and making big bubbles with it is lots of fun.) When we play out on the lawn the kids are usually soaked by the end of the adventure.

A New Name

For about a week now Mya has been insisting that she be called "Reecie" She came to me on Monday last week and said, "Mom, my name is not Mya, you need to call me Reecie." I replied with, "Okay Reecie, will you go and watch your cartoons while I finish dinner." She smiled because I was playing along and since then she has insisted that her name really is Reecie. In her prayers she prays for mom, dad, Keegan and Reecie. She has told Aiden that she is not Mya and that has really confused him. Kids go through such funny fazes.

Is Talking a Good Thing?

I think that I want Keegan to talk more and then this happens.....

All day today when I asked Keegan to do something his reply was, "Why?" I would ask him to go and sit down and he would ask, "why?" I would ask him to throw something away and he would ask, "why?" Finally I turned to him and asked, "Did you learn a new word today?" His reply was an honest, "uh huh" with a smile of course.

WHO'S THAT????

Mya's pictures are starting to look like what she tells me they are. Can you guess who this is?

I'll give you a clue...

Who live's in a pinnaple under the sea?

Mya, Keegan and the boy that I watch, Aiden, are obsessed with spongebob squarepants. Everytime that it is on they are singing the song and dancing and running around. It is fun to see how kids interact with their favorite shows.

ALICIA KEYS and MYA

I told my mom that I would post a picture of Mya singing to Alicia Keys because she has never heard of this song. Mya knows most of the words because she is always requesting the song. Even in church when they ask her what song she wants to sing she always tells them "Alicia Keys" This is Gerald's influence on our kids!!

Bunco

I don't know how many of you have heard of this game, but it is lots of fun. It is great to be able to get out of the house and socialize with other women. The first time I went I got the biggest loser prize. I am getting better though, I didn't win anything, but I didn't lose either.

When we get together we have dinner before starting bunco. This week they were cooking and the timer fell of next to the gas burner and caught on fire. We were able to get it out without burning the hostesses house down.

Here is a picture of all of us together.

American Idol

My mom and I are both really in to watching American Idol. When I was in Idaho we would call each other and talk about the results after it happend. When we moved to Houston I told her that I was going to call and harrass her about the results because I would know an hour before her. I have had lots of fun holding her in suspense during this season. Tonight she called me while I was watching it and told me who was in the bottom three and that she wasn't going to tell me who went home, but that she knew who it was that was going home. I was shocked that she was right and asked her how she knew. She had called my aunt who lives in Penn. to find out the results so that she could have a one up on me. We had a good laugh about it. My top four for this season is....

1. Micheal Johns (Mom says it is because of his looks that I like him. IT REALLY IS BECAUSE OF HIS TALENT)

2. David Cook (He does amazing arrangments with the different songs and he can really make it his own)

3. David Archuletta (He is sooooo young and soooooo talented)

4. Brook (She is LDS and has amazing control of her voice)

This is about the only thing that I look forward to in my uneventful life. One of the reasons I haven't posted anything for a while is because nothing really happens.
