Update......

All of you regular readers of my blog know that I am working on developing my talents. I have been practicing the piano and can play all of the songs in the simplified hymn book. YEA!!! I have really felt like this is something that Heavenly Father wants me to know how to do. I got a call from the missionaries and they asked me if I could play the piano at the baptism last night. I told them that if I could pick the songs that I was comfortable with, I could do it. When I walked into the baptism I was suprised with how many people were there. The mission president and his wife and another senior couple, (all from Soda Springs Idaho). Both sets of missionaries that serve our ward. The bishop was there and the two that were baptized had good family support as well. It was a little nervous at first, but calmed down after I started playing the prelude music. ( I think the prelude music is more for the pianist then it is for the congregations. ) It turned out nice and the spirit was strong.
After today, I know that Heavenly Father really wants me to know how to play. We were getting the kids situated on the bench and suprisingly we were about five minutes early. The bishop came up to me and asked me how comfortable I was feeling. I was thinking to myself, what a strange question to ask. Maybe he wants me to do something like pray in the meeting or bare my testimony. Was I suprised when he said that our regular piano player was called out. I looked around and saw that all the regular piano players were not there. He asked if I could play the piano in sacrament meeting. My heart sank. I felt really underqualified for this one. I asked if we could sing "choose the right." I was able to do a decent job on it. I was so relieved to see my great friend Gayla walk through the door late and volunteered to watch her three children while she played the remainder of the meeting.
Heavenly Father loves each of us, he needs all of us to help build the kingdom here on the earth. I am so thankful for the oppertunites that I have been given and look forward to seeing what else he wants me to do.

BUSY SATURDAY!!!

Saturday, our bishopric made us pancakes, bacon, and sausage for breakfast. It was tasty!!!

After breakfast was over we had our pioneer primary party. We played "button, button" and sack races and three-legged races. I think that the kids just like running around in the gym. I loved to see all the kids dressed up, Dalton was my favorite in his overalls and pokemon bandanna.
We went over to Adam and Jessicca's after the primary party to let Keegan take a nap and to hang out while we were waiting for Gerald to get off of work. Jessicca got a phone call that someone wanted to come over and look at the house (because they are tying to sell it so they can move out closer to us). Jessicca and I frantically straightend up the house and got the kids all loaded up into the car and went and picked up her neice to watch the kids later that night. We came back to the house and got ready and went back to the church for a baptism. After the baptism I went with Jessicca to see the movie mamma mia. It was a big girls out and lots of fun!!

I Remember When....

Here's the rules...

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you.If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you. If you don't want to play on your blog, or if you don't have a blog, I'll leave my memory of you in my comments.

Rain, Rain......

It has been raining all day today thanks to Hurricane Dolly. I am already a clean natzi as it is, but when it rains I go into deep cleaning mode. Today I took out the carpet cleaner and tackled the couch and the kitchen table chairs. Mya is starting to ask if she can help with things around the house. Today she did a great job sweeping. I didn't even have to go behind her like I usually do. I think that I am rubbing off on her. It's funny to see what habits my children have picked up from me.

I took the kids out the other day and took some cute pictures of them. Keegan's true personality comes out in some of them. He is such a cheese sometimes.

Birthday Bash

I don't know why parents think that it is cute to take pictures of their kids getting eaten by sharks or putting them in big red noses and in front of a clown. But it is, and so I took some pictures of them.

Today was a birthday party for Leilanah Flores'. She turned Five. It was a carnival theme with lots of games for all ages. There was food, snowcones, prizes, cupcakes, facepainting, and baloon animals. The kids had a blast!!!

No Doubt About It.....

I belong to a book club with some of my REALLY GOOD FRIENDS here in our ward. We get together twice a month to discuss a book that we have chosen. This month we are reading "No Doubt About it" by Sheri Dew. SUPER REALLY GOOD BOOK THAT I WOULD RECOMMEND TO ANYONE!!!!
She says, "From the adversary's point of view, we are dangerous. Righteous women and righteous men dedicated to the Lord and united in the cause of goodness threaten Satan's work. Of course he would target and attempt to deceive us, women who have a clear understaning of who we are. FOR WE ARE NOT ORDINARY WOMEN. We know that we are beloved spirit daughters of heavenly parents, and that our lives have meaning, purpose, and direction, as the Relief Society Declaration asserts. We are women who seek to hear the voice of the Lord. We are women dedicated to strengthening our marriages, families, and homes; women whose covenants and influence span generations; women who are not easily deceived; women of faith, virtue, vision, and charity-not to mention integrity and purity. We are women who understand that to qualify for eternal life, we must deal with a full range of difficulty and disappointment here. We are free to choose how we live, where we spend our temperal, emotional, and spiritual resources, and to what and whom we devote ourselves."
This book is such a powerful tool on help answer the questions 1.what have we come here to do? and 2. How will we do it? It has made such an impact on my life and the way that I respond to things. I am so thankful for the gospel and the knowlege that I have as a member of this church. Romans 1:16 "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ."

GOAL!!!

I guess you can say that it was a new years resolution more then a goal. I decided that I wanted to develop my talents on the piano. I took lessons when I was a kid, but unfortunatly I was not as dedicated to them. I do know the basics, I just want to be better. Thanks to a great friend, I was able to get an electric keyboard (THANKS KAREENA). I have been playing pretty consistantly. Another talented friend of mine (GAYLA) has shown me a great websight for simplified primary music. I am going to be using a lot of ink in our printer now so that I can play the songs and Mya can sing along. She loves music and is always dancing and singing to anything that is on. I figure it is a good way for her to learn the music for the programs and a nice way for me to continue my new years resolution.
Here is the websight for the simplified primary music......

How Can I Be

I saw this on Krysta's blog and thought that it had a great message to share with my family and friends. The gospel is such an important part of our lives. I am so grateful for the good examples that I have to look to.

Happy Happy Birthday!!!

Mya is a big girl. I can't believe how fast time has flown. She turned four today!!! She spent her birthday at the zoo with friends. (thanks for taking the kids Jessicca.) She came home and opened a big package that grandma sent. It was full of books and toys. (Thanks Grandma and Grandpa) Overall I think that she had a good day. She was exhausted by the time that she got home.

Everything's Bigger in Texas

I went to let one of my friends in the house and she pointed out a spider that was in our entryway. She said that it was one of the biggest spiders that she has seen. I think that I have to agree with her on this one. It took a lot of courage to get up as close as I did to take the picture. I do not like spiders at all!!!

This is the upclose picture
This is the picture to show just what size it really was. It is on the top left part of the doormat.

Nice Hair Girl

When we were in Milwaukee everyone wanted Mya to get her hair done. I should have taken a picture of it when it was first done, but this is what it looks like a week later. She has been getting lots of compliments and I think that she is getting a big head now. Mya's hair has always been a challenge for me and I was so excited to have someone else spend the time and do it.
