Home Sweet Home

This has all been a very fast and educating experience, but tonight we closed on the house. I feel like we have killed a poor inocent tree with all the paperwork that was required in the process. We are super excited to finally be home owners. Mya has already requested that her room be painted pink so I think that she is excited as well. Keegan does not know what is going on, but he has fun playing on the stairs everytime that we go over to the house. It is a four bedroom, two and a half bath house with tons of room that seems like a lot of space that we don't know what to do with. Everyone has said that with time we will accumulate things and in no time we will have it full. I will take more pictures as time goes on, but here is a starter pictures of the exterior.

Homemade Bread

I was craving homemade bread today. There is nothing like it in the stores. Mya kept saying repetively how good it was and that she wanted some more. I love to eat it with butter and jam. It would be excellent with sandwiches. I have been thinking about the economy a lot and it is good to know that if times really did get tough that I would be able to make my own bread. It was really yummy!

Here is the recipe:

1 cup of warm water
3 tbsp Oil
3 tbsp Sugar
1 1/2 tsp Salt
3 cups Flour
2 1/4 tsp yeast
Mix and let rise for an hour and a half in bowl. Punch and let rise for one hour in bread pan. Put in oven at 350 for a half an hour. Spread butter over the top while it is still hot. EAT!!!
Things have been kind of busy around here. Gerald is finishing up school. His last day will be next sat. He is super excited for the summer vacation, and we are super excited to have him home for the summer as well.

Last night Gerald and I went out to dinner at a local place called Pappasito's. It had some good texas mexican food. It was great to be able to get out of the house and leave the kids with a babysitter. We don't go out without the kids very often. We double dated with another couple and spent two hours at the resteraunt just talking. It was great to have some adult conversation for a change.

Thanks

This week has been one of those that you don't know what you got done but you felt like you were really busy. Thanks for all of your reply's with help at craft time with Mya and Aiden. Today we did some oregami projects, the kids really liked to make animals from plain pieces of paper. I only have two more weeks of babysitting the kids and then we will be on summer vacation, YEA!!! That is one thing to look forward to when your husband is a teacher. Hopefully we will be able to do lots of fun things this year.

Craft Time Ideas

I am running out of things for Mya and Aiden to do during craft time while the Keegan's are sleeping. If any of you have any ideas I would love to hear them. We have painted rocks and put eyes on them for rock pets, we have painted those ceramic animals that are 44 cents at walmart. We have painted stained glass animals and other similar projects. I have been trying to think back to my childhood, but I must not have been that creative when I was a child because I have done all the things that I can think of. PLEASE, if you have any ideas leave me a comment. I need something to help me through the last couple of weeks until school is out.

Swimming Pool

This morning we went over to the swimming pool. I think that Mya is going to be swimming by the end of the summer. She was getting brave today and going out to the deep end and swimming around with her arm bands. I was trying to get her to jump in, but she wasn't that brave. Keegan was content to float around on his ring. It was the perfect morning to go. It wasn't too hot and there was no humidity out today. We had lots of fun. Here are some pictures....

Slow News Day???

I was watching the local news today at noon. I was suprised when one of the stories midway through the broadcast was out of West Jefferson/Rexburg Idaho. Illigal immigrants are a big issue since we are so close to the boarder. I am sure that is why it was on the news. Anyway, a shout out to all the people up there in Idaho, Houston remembers you in their news casts every once in awhile. =)
